National We Care Foundation

National We Care Foundation

In 1991, the Law Enforcement Training Network started a monthly drawing on its satellite network to give away bullet resistant vests to police officers. Several vest companies assisted by donating one vest per month for the first three months.  Within those three months, LETN received over 200 letters from officers requesting vests.

Having identified this unmet need in the law enforcement community, a number of concerned citizens established the non-profit, National WE CARE Foundation in 1992. Since that year, the foundation has awarded body armor to thousands of officers throughout the United States.

Today, the foundation sees it's mission as providing new vests to "certified peace officers" in need and educating them on the importance of body armor usage.
